sojourning to ireland
connecting and communing with the land and the wise and well ones of ériu
returning
listening is a deep practice for me: i hear from every sense organ and cell in my body. this year, as i face my 50th birthday and emerge from a deeply heart breaking- opening, wintering i hear the call to sojourn back to my heart’s home- ireland, ériu.
it has been three years since i first responded to bhride’s (brigid’s) call for me to return to her lands and the lands of my maternal great grands who left ireland during the genocide, “the faminie”. so much of my work in my adult years has been doing the ancestral work of healing the pain and violence my indigenous ancestors- black, nipmuc, and irish. the pain and violence they experienced and/or internalized/expressed and passed down from generation to generation. this ancestral work has also been healing us- by us i mean me and my ancestors. i do this labor so that we can reclaim and re-enliven the power and love that liberates us all- by us here i mean all beings including me.
this year we are all experiencing and/or bearing witness to great and subtle losses, pains, and violences. and we are grieving- i am grieving. and the grief for me is what is opening me up more to more clearly where i am being called to to continue what is my work to do in my ancestral lands of ireland- to listen, be nourished, and be of service to love’s liberation.
to return i relay on you, my community for prayers and support- gift, mutual aid, and generosity . there is no other way for me to be able to return- i do not have the financial resources to do so.
i am raising $3000 for a 2 week sojourn to ireland at the end of april- april 21st. i have already received $863 leaving $2637 to raise. your support is welcome in one of two ways:
directly gifting by clicking the support my sojourn button below to help me raise the remaining $2200.
tangible support of a direct flight. if this is a way you would like to support me please reach to me via my email sistersadada@sistersadada.com

look intoMy past pilgrimages to ireland- my heart’s home and ancestral lands
my first call to my heart home
in 2023 i went on a pilgrimage to listen to the lands and water of brigid. i embarked on this pilgrimage by myself and i was not ever alone- go raibh maith agat, thank you, bhride.
my pilgrim path in 2024: remembering, retuning, reclaiming
i 2024 i retuned to listen and learn more from the more than human and human in my ancestral lands. there were times when i wondered the lands and waters solo and time when i wondered in groups. on each trip i opened up and said yes to what my ancestors, waters, and land wanted in collaboration, love and liberation.
in the fall of 2024 the land called me, my heart- home. in the spring of 2025 i was given a new name, síofra. this was a year of great initiations and resting, and remembering, and visioning in these ancestral some lands.
thank you for supporting my sojourn back to ireland
