about SÍOFRA she/they
(SISTER SADADA JACKSON)
artist | educator | healer
i am a student of embodied liberatory practices: i live in my body and vacation in my mind. i am a black nipmuc of irish decent. as an embodied liberation teacher, i work with individuals and groups who do the work of healing and educating. the aim of my work is to resource and guide embodied liberation in our relationships and structures.
i believe that a love-based relationship with all of our bodies is essential to liberation. centered in this belief, i guide others in embodying liberation from these bodies: physical/causal, emotional/mental, spiritual/subtle, and social/political. i approach my work as a guide, supporting and resourcing others' development and deepening of embodied, love-based ways of being. i use movement, yoga, breath, reiki, ritual, and ceremony in partnership with the earth elements when i work with individuals and groups.
in my work, i maintain a clear and generative heart and mindset. i rely on the partnership of my labor and the labor of those i work with to inform our time together. i am deeply committed to care, access, love, spaciousness, and liberation for all beings: unseen and seen.
my commitments are rooted in my black and indigenous identities and traditions. for more than 20 years, I have been a practitioner of contemplative practices in buddhist and yogic traditions. i have been a fire-keeper in the mayan tradition for more than 15 years, and, for the past three, a student and practitioner of celtic earth-based divine masculine and feminine practices.
MY LABOR, FOCUS, AND VALUES
for over 18 years i have provided guidance to groups, teams, and individuals in the public, private, and non-profit sectors. from leadership development to instructional solutions and transformational change, I focus on curating the causes and conditions for liberatory practices—and liberated practitioners.
my central values are clarity, creativity, care, sovereignty, connection, radicle self-love
